Stupid People

Someone answer me this: When will stupid people stop being stupid? Oh wait I know the answer: NEVER!!! I'm sick of people who are stupid and continue on a daily basis to be stupid and annoy me with their stupidity! I can't take it anymore! I'm probably going crazy because of them and nothing else. Perhaps it is something about the south. Granted there are stupid people everywher you go, but it seems the farther south you drive, the stupider they get. Take today for example, I wake up to a nice beautiful sunny day. It was 60 degrees and I was set on getting outside and enjoying some of it. (I did enjoy some of it, but it took long enough to get to that point.) I only have one class on Fridays unfortunately its in the middle of the day, which I like and dislike for hopefully obvious reasons. I'm on my way to class and one of the lights turns green I'm about 3 cars behind and about 10 seconds have passed and no ones going. I figured one of the cars in front of me would have honked, but nothing. So I honked and then everyone started moving. I was thinking idiot up front was probably texting and so was the person behind them and the person behind them. So I forgave their acts and continued on my way. I hit another light, the same one I always do, thats nothing new to me. Right on the other side of the light is a stop sign. Stupid I know, but whatever. I do whats called a rolling stop, the girl in front of me decided to stop completely for about 5 seconds before she decided it was ok to cross the train tracks which by the way have not been used in the past decade. Seriously. Class was fine move on to drive down towards the beach for a walk. Heaven forbid I should get there. I always seem to get stuck behind the slow people and then try to pass them only to be slowed by another person. What ircks me is that the speed limit is 55 not 40! Then another idiot decided 'oh I need to turn left here, and without even looking pulled right out in front of me from the far right lane. So I basically had to slam on the breaks to make sure I didnt kill the idiot. I honk at him and as I drive by and look he's giving me the finger. Really?! Finally after too much time on the road I enjoy some much needed time away from stupid people. Only realizing that I couldn't be gone forever and had to make my way back through. Then as I pull into my apt's parking lot and in front of my apt there is a car sitting there in the middle of the road. There is someone in the car and clearly sees that I'm waiting for it to move. I wait and wait and finally movement. I wanted to go up to the car and smack the idiot.

Now I realize this has been all about stupid drivers...this should tell you something. I won't even begin to tell you about the amount of stupid students that walk through the halls of school and I'd like to think most are freshman, but they aren't sadly. So for everyone out there who has to deal with stupid people I feel you. I think Obama should create 'smack a stupid person day'. This way I have free reign to smack any idiot I want. Amen!

One Safe Place by Marc Cohn

I thought this was fitting of my never ending journey to find myself:

How many roads you've traveled
How many dreams you've chased
Across sand and sky and gravel
Looking for one safe place

Will you make a smoother landing
When you break your fall from grace
Into the arms of understanding
Looking for one safe place

Oh, life is trial by fire
And loves the sweetest tase
And I pray it lifts us higher
To one safe place

How many roads we've traveled
How many dreams we've chased
Across sand and sky and gravel
Looking for one safe place.

I've traveled a lot more roads then most my age. I've been down a few bumpy paths and some straight and flat ones. I've learned a lot along the way and am still learning. There are many things I wish I would have done differently, but I can't go back and change them. Every choice has made me who I am today. People ask, if you could go back in time and change just one thing what would it be? I think about that and would used to say nothing. Today, I would change my choice of school and major. But here I sit almost done and not having the slightest of where I want to be or what I want to do that will make me happy. But I guess I'm still traveling down some roads and chasing some dreams.

Snow Day

I can officially say I have had my first ever snow day! Today we were supposed to start class and they sent out notices last night that classes were cancelled to due impending snow. Although there is no evidence of snow anywhere near here, I enjoy the extra day of rest. People in the south freak out about the slightest possibility of snow and shut down everything. Back up north they'd laugh at this. Heck I laugh at it. I'm from freakin Wisconsin. This is a joke, but as I said, nothing beats having a snow day for the first time in your 20 years of education. Well tomorrow begins, well should begin school. 2 classes and I'm done by noon. Sweet deal!

No Clever Title

I'm a little slow on wishing everyone a happy new year so there it is! Now is the time everyone has some sort of resolution in place, but I'm happy to say that I have none. I usually have the workout more, eat healthier resolution. This year I'm looking to be happy even in the difficult situations that are likely to arise. I'm also looking into being more spontaneous and hopefully get some travelling in. I also am working on my French. As a graduation/birthday present I am planning a trip to Montreal and Quebec City at the end of August. I figure its the best time to go. I will be officially done with school and I'm sure I will still be jobless. If I'm not jobless, hopefully it will be the little time I have before starting a job!

So far 2011 has started off without complaint. I'm still on break, but only for a few more days! I went to the beach yesterday in the pouring rain and freezing cold and walked for miles. I found a whole sand dollar and thats the first whole one I've ever found! I also saw about 10-15 dolphins swimming north. They were jumping in and out of the water and that was pretty spectacular. This weekend we are expecting some snow to fall to the area. I'm pretty excited to see some of the white fluffy stuff down here again! That is all for now. I'm sure my next post will be next week after I start classes. Almost all of them I'm excited for. One is going to be boring, but you can't have all great classes!
